Oregon: Annual Medical Cannabis Awards Held This Weekend

Portland, OR - Unique holiday shopping is just one reason to attend the ninth annual Oregon Medical Cannabis Awards (OMCA). The day event is free and open to the public from 10:00am to 5:00pm and features a unique green shopping bazaar and educational programs to be held at the World Famous Cannabis Cafe, 322 SE 82nd Ave, Portland, OR 97216.
The Cannabis Cafe is a private club that serves Oregon Medical Marijuana Program registrants, and is not usually open to the public. The OMCA provides a special opportunity for the curious to get a peek inside as well as the chance to shop for a wide variety of hemp and cannabis friendly products in one place. From hemp based soaps and clothing to handmade jewelry and mosaic art, the Holiday Bazaar at the OMCA is one of Portland's best kept secrets.
Highlighting this year's day program is the return of the grow seminar led by Danny Danko. Danny is a writer, photographer and Senior Cultivation Editor of High Times Magazine. Seminar pre-registration is still open. Forms are available to download at www.ornorml.org or the Cannabis Cafe. Advance registration fee is $75.00 and $100 at the event. A free legal panel, featuring Paul Loney, Oregon NORML Legal Director and member of the NORML Legal Committee and a cannabis salve and tincture demonstration by Angela Stanich round out the day.
Judging results for the OMCA are tabulated at the event with prizes given at the awards banquet, which begins at 7:00pm.
"We are so excited to have a special musical performance at the banquet by Big Dub and J.Mack," reports Madeline Martinez, Executive Director of Oregon NORML. "They have written some new songs that include the Cannabis Cafe, which is really amazing!"
